Dating, Breakups, and Supernatural Chaos: An Exclusive Look Inside the New Comedy Ghosted

EXCLUSIVE: After her boyfriend breaks up with her, Estela finds herself in a situation where overcoming it is a challenge, but everything changes when an unprecedented event helps her realize what kind of person she is in love with. Produced by Dimas Films, Ghosted brings back all the elements of a 2000s comedy film, featuring a unique story and a sense of chaos that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very first scene. It introduces fresh acting talent that will make you both love and hate the characters, led by returning cast members from The Room—Irene Vass as Estela and new face in Dimas Films Productions Christopher LaLone as the idiot of Eliott.

Dimas Rivero returns just months after wrapping up his horror short film, The Room, with a brand-new story. The director and writer shared exclusive details with us:"I'm excited to share that Ghosted is currently in post-production. We all worked hard, and I'm thrilled that everything turned out just as we planned. I think everyone will have a great time with Estela and Eliott's story. There will be plenty of fun moments that remind you of 2000s humor—those silly yet funny ones that you still remember to this day."We sat down with the cast to discuss the story of Ghosted, their experience on set, and the process of building their characters.

We spoke with the lead actress of Ghosted Irene Vass about her reaction when she first saw the screenplay and what her process was like filming this short film, to which she said:"I thought it was brilliant that the script didn’t provide all the answers to open questions, because it was fun to play with the loose ends and decide for ourselves what happened next in the story."She also added:"I was pretty nervous being the lead of the film, but everyone was super supportive, so my nerves went away immediately."Additionally, she opened up about working with the Dimas Films crew, noting that her initial impression of the team was that they were passionate, creative, and genuinely excited about telling stories.

We also spoke with one of the new actors at Dimas Films, the film's antagonist, Christopher Lalone. He talked to us about his first day on set, what it was like playing the villain of the story, and how to portray a character like Eliott:"From my first day on the film set, I was very excited to get to work with a new cast. I am an extrovert at heart, and I always love the opportunity to meet new people and see great stuff we can all create."Christopher shared that his collaboration with Dimas Films began during the initial table read. Having already been cast in the film, the session gave the cast and crew a chance to meet before production officially started. He noted that right from that table read, he had full confidence they were going to have fun on set and build something truly special, adding that everyone got along well, maintained a high level of professionalism, and simply had a great time working together. He reflected on the psychological challenge of portraying his role, explaining how strange it was to step into the mindset of a character with ill intentions—especially while genuinely liking his castmates. He noted that it was initially difficult to transition from laughing and having fun on set straight into playing someone who didn't truly care about the other characters.Regarding his character, he added:"From my character, I can relate to the awkwardness of everything that goes wrong on a date. Whether it is the crazy stuff that happens to the awkward conversation that follows, we have all had interactions that didn’t go as well as you had hoped. My character is not meant to be a character that is liked. And if the audience can look at my character and not like him, then I know I made my creative choices right."

Joining the cast, we also spoke with Jane Pietruszka, who plays Jessica, one of Eliott's dates in the short film. She told us what it was like working with Dimas Films and shared details about her role:"I only got it for my audition and they were so normal that I couldn’t tell what the genre was. Then when I got the full script, I loved it. It was so funny to me and then being on set and watching each actor take the role and make it even more enjoyable was so much fun."She added that Jessica is so sweet, but simply doesn’t understand what she needs in a man, leading her to make all the wrong mistakes with dating, just like Eliott does. She hopes the audience sees how sweet Jessica is and knows she will find a good guy.Reflecting on her experience, she noted:"The Dimas Films set I worked on was just a really fun and welcoming environment. Not all sets feel that way, so it helped bring me out of my comfort zone very fast, which was great."

As part of the cast, we also spoke with Daniela Lopez, who plays another one of Eliott's dates. Danna is described as one of the most iconic characters in the short film, thanks to a personality that fits the "baddie" archetype. We talked to the actress who plays her, and she shared her initial reaction to the character and her experience making the short film:"My initial reaction was, 'Wow, I love my character!' This role is my first film outside of school projects, so I was beyond excited to be cast. As I read the script, I felt it portrayed a realistic modern-day romance. While I enjoy romantic comedies, the real world is nothing like that. This film captures the reality of a man-child and how karma always catches up with him."Regarding her experience, she shared that she was really impressed by the Dimas Films team, noting that they absolutely elevated the production with two cameras, a boom mic, bright lighting, and a bunch of talented extras, which made the whole experience even more exciting and left her eager to see the final product.Additionally, she added about the story that the ambiance of the film is significantly enhanced by a director who pours his heart and soul into every project he undertakes, explaining that his intense passion breathes life into each scene and creates a vivid tapestry of emotion and depth that deeply captivates the audience.

As part of the cast, we also spoke with the actresses making up a trio described as the "mean girls" of the dating world: Tatum Grace, Lily Amaturo, and Lilian Blake. They shared some of their fun moments on set, noting that despite not having a lot of screen time, they will definitely stay in the audience's hearts. Grace said:"I was excited, and honestly just ready for action. I remember taking everything in—the cameras, the crew, the energy on set—and thinking, 'This is exactly where I want to be.' Once we started filming, I just wanted to learn, perform, and soak up every second of the experience."She added that she wants people to feel like they can root for the girls and enjoy seeing them take back some of their power, while also hoping audiences have fun because the story features a great mix of drama, comedy, and revenge. she shared how much the environment supported her process, noting that "the creative freedom at Dimas Films really allows me to trust myself more as an actor." She explained that she never feels restricted to a single approach, which gives her the flexibility to "try different choices, improvise when it feels natural, and bring my own ideas to the character while still staying true to the director’s vision." Ultimately, she credited that sense of trust with giving her the courage to take risks and step outside her comfort zone, believing "that's where some of the best and most authentic moments can come from."Reflecting on the experience, Amaturo shared that the first day on set is always a bit nerve-wracking. Having shot on the second day of production, Amaturo felt a mix of excitement about getting to do what they love alongside a slight nervousness about what the overall on-set experience would be like. she also added that the environment created by Dimas Films was exceptionally welcoming and encouraging, pointing to thoughtful details like personalized crew shirts featuring everyone's name and role, as well as regular check-ins. She praised the entire team for being hard-working and supportive, emphasizing how much those efforts contributed to a positive experience on setLillian Blake opened up about some of the emotional hurdles of working on set, noting that adjusting to the fast-paced production rhythm was particularly challenging. She explained that "waiting for your scene and keeping that energy up without getting anxious is definitely a skill to practice," highlighting the mental discipline required during long filming days. Blake reflected on her creative process, sharing that "knowing you’re allowed to play and explore in a character on a film set goes a long way in pushing boundaries as an artist." She added that working with Dimas Films created the supportive environment necessary to truly take those artistic risks.

We noted that after speaking with the director, it became clear that the film is filled with subtle twists that make each character distinct, yet grounded in a relatable sense of self. The director explained his vision for the project:"I wanted every character to feel unique in a way that anyone can relate to, while presenting them authentically as they navigate different dating archetypes. For instance, Gil embodies a toxic dynamic, while Danna represents an independent woman who won't be toyed with. Without giving too much away, I hope audiences can recognize these traits and enjoy relating to them in a fun way."To conclude the interview, the director was asked a simple question: Why a fantasy comedy? He replied, "I mean, why not? I grew up watching 2000s comedy movies, and I related to them so much. They were genuinely funny, but they also carried meaningful lessons that people sometimes overlook. I love creating something audiences can take home and discuss with friends. Dating is very relative, but it's also something almost everyone takes seriously. I wanted to make this film for anyone out there navigating dating—to remind them that the right match is out there, so stop crying over the jerk who cheated on you. You are unique and amazing just as you are."
